Purple and Fine Linen

Overview

The plot concerns an elderly woman beggar who picks a man's pocket on a London street, persuades her victim not to turn her over to the police and leads him into a series of adventures, during which he discovers that she is no ordinary pickpocket - nor elderly, either.
