Gill's death brings Julie back to Newcastle, and at the Grove they are thinking of ways to raise money for Gill's memorial. Nicola is involved in a Green Brigade meeting. Robert concentrates on walking again. Joanne wants her brother to join her from Hong Kong.

Carl confesses to blackmailing Gill, and Julie returns to London. Joanne's 'brother' is an imposter. Winston visits Tabitha at the camp to talk about Gill's death.

Strange sightings at the Grove. Winston talks to the vicar about Gill's death. The Grovers are planning an acid house party.

Brad leaves Alison. The police are questioning Paul about the car stickers. Winston's photo of Gill goes missing.

Duncan, PJ, and Speedy start to investigate the strange events at the Grove. Charley gets another red rose, but Donna makes her give it to her.

Lou meets Scott. Duncan, Speedy, Fraser, and PJ practice signalling and are joined by Debbie and Jemma.

Nicola is worried about Paul and thinks the police are looking for her. Duncan and PJ plan an acid house disco at the Grove.

Skerrett tells Nicola the truth about Paul. The chess tournament takes place at the Grove, and Spuggie is so absorbed she forgets to say goodbye to Joanne.

Speedy is in love with Charley and dreams about her. Alison suggests he tries expressing his feelings through poetry. Robert is not getting on with his walking as well as he should and tells Lou he will have to go to a specialist.

Fraser meets Lee whilst looking for Betty and gets him to agree to contact him if he sees her. Donna and Lisa fall out about Jim, as Lisa thinks Donna is trying to get attention.

Donna owns up to Lisa about Jim asking for her help. Fraser saves Geoff when he falls off the roof of the Grove and hurts his arm.

Donna's broadcast goes out on the radio, and she is interviewed for TV. Geoff calls off the show after falling through the trapdoorPJ had left open.

Geoff receives shocking news. Alison introduces two newcomers. Winston's car washing scheme runs into trouble.

Danny helps a girl fight off a mugger. Marcus and Amanda find themselves unpopular as Geoff announces that the Grove is going to close down.

Debbie and Kelly have a brush with the Denton Burn gang whilst cleaning cars. Winston loses all the money raised for Gill on betting on the race. Lee cleans up.

Debbie is nervous when Lee starts watching her. The Grovers go to the Town Hall to protest the closure.

Spuggie receives a letter from Joanne inviting her to America. Tessa, Kelly, and PJ go down the cellar looking for a priesthole.

January 2, 1992
Kelly is rescued by the emergency services from the mine shaft. Nicola and Charley are left money by Doyle.
