Carlea wrote into the show desperate for Dr. Phil’s help because she claims her brother, Jay, is an egotistical,untruthful narcissist who physically abused the mother of his child, Cassie. Carlea says her nephew, Ky, deserves better, and Jay needs to be Ky’s father 100 percent of the time; not after the next girl, the next party, or the next group of what she calls “idiots” he wants to associate with. Jay and Cassie both agree they do not know how to co-parent, and the only one they trust for advice is Dr. Phil.
